Our Visit to The New Forest Show

We were delighted to attended The New Forest Show as their charity of the year, chosen by Alan Titchmarsh, this year’s show president. We used this opportunity to raise awareness of the Cathedral and to promote Winchester: Chronicles of Light. The weather was on our side and the three show days where the hottest on record. Our Foreman Stonemason, Ross Lovett, was a huge hit. Visitors watched him working on a piece of stone that will go on the Cathedral in a couple of weeks time. On Wednesday 25 July Her Majesty The Queen and Prince Philip visited the show and stopped at our display. They were greeted by The Dean and his wife, Mo Hearn and Bruce Parker from The Friends’ and our Receiver General. We were pleased to see Bishop Michael Scott-Joynt and his wife Lou also enjoying the show. Here are some photographs from this special occasion.
