The Cathedral Youth Choir

The Cathedral Youth Choir is a new choir for young people aged 13-18, offering an exciting opportunity develop vocal skills, explore different kinds of music, and perform regularly at Winchester Cathedral.

This choir is led by Oliver Morrell, Sub-Organist at Winchester Cathedral. Before moving to Winchester, Oliver was Organ Scholar at St Albans Cathedral where he directed the Youth Choir (Abbey Singers) and accompanied the Junior Choir (St Albans Young Singers). Oliver has also gained experience playing for and singing in choirs at Gloucester Cathedral, Durham Cathedral, and Croydon Minster.

The Cathedral Youth Choir rehearse every Tuesday (during term time) in the Wessex Learning Centre from 7.15pm-8.30pm.

How to Join

Enthusiastic singers aged 13-18 are all welcome to join. There is no formal audition, but an ability to read music is an advantage. Members will be expected to attend the weekly rehearsals and to be keen to develop their vocal skills with like-minded people.

Commitment

• Tuesday evening rehearsals 7.15pm – 8.30pm (during term time)
• Services and other events as required

Membership

Membership costs £40* per term and is due at the start of each term.
