Winchester Cathedral has a musical tradition which stretches back through the centuries.

We welcome keen amateur choirs, with experience singing in cathedrals and large churches, to contribute to the worshipping life of the cathedral. There are opportunities for visiting choirs to sing services during school breaks whilst the cathedral’s resident choirs are away.

How can we make an application to come and sing?

Please email visiting.choirs@winchester-cathedral.org.uk with:

  • A recent recording of your choir singing
  • A letter of recommendation from a previous cathedral

When might I be able to arrange a visit?

We invite choirs to sing during school holidays, especially at weekends. There may be other opportunities throughout the year. We make bookings up to 18 months in advance but are happy to provisionally reserve dates with more notice than this.

We maintain an online document (available here), which shows which dates are available.
