This workshop, led by Sunita a Scribe at Winchester Cathedral, will focus on the Uncial Hand.
Uncial hand is an 8th-century script which has been modernised for contemporary use today. It’s a great script for beginners to explore broad edged nib letterforms. It’s also useful as there is no distinction between upper and lower case. It pairs well with celtic knot patterns and we will learn the most basic knot to use in a project by the end of the day.
Equipment can be provided, but if attendees prefer they can bring their own.
Beginners welcome.
The workshop will take place in the Taylor Selwyn room in the Learning Centre, click here for a map.
