Judges, barristers and councillors parade in their colourful robes through the city in celebration of Law Sunday on 8th October, marking the prominence of Winchester in the legal world, home to one of Britain’s most important crown courts.
The parade culminates in a service at the Cathedral which recognises the work of the judiciary and all others involved in upholding justice and promoting the common good in modern society. This year’s High Sheriff, Amelia Riviere, has requested that volunteers and the theme of redemption will feature strongly in the service.
Everyone is welcome.
