Fretwork is one of the world’s most acclaimed viol consorts. Founded in 1985 in London, the group mainly performs music from 16^th to 18^th centuries, from Elizabethan court music through to the Baroque period. Additionally, they have championed commissioning modern works for viols. They have recorded extensively for labels such as Virgin Classics, EMI, Signum and Harmonia Mundi, with many of their recordings considered definitive performances.

They have performed with artists including counter tenor Michael Chance, tenor Charles Daniels, soprano Emma Kirkby, lutenists Jacob Heringman and Christopher Wilson, keyboardists Paul Nicholson and Timothy Roberts, the choirs of Magdalen College, Oxford, and King’s College, Cambridge. They have also recorded with popular musicians Elvis Costello, Loreena McKennitt, and Robbie Williams.

Winchester Cathedral Chamber Choir is considered one of the leading choirs in the area. The choir performs in services and concerts at Winchester Cathedral and further afield, singing a large and varied repertoire from renaissance to contemporary music. Membership consists of adult singers from Winchester and surrounding areas, from all walks of life, who make a rich and valued contribution to the Cathedral’s musical life.
