As you may know from the Community News and notices, Community Day 2023 takes place on Sunday 4 June, between the Sunday Eucharist (at 10.00am), where the Dean of York will be preaching, and Evensong. I’m writing to you now with further information and with registration details.

Community Day is an important occasion in the year for the Cathedral congregations to come together to consider our church life and to encourage one another in an informal and sociable environment.  I find that Community Day, as well as being a relaxed opportunity to spend time together, can also be at the start of important development. For example, early in my time here, Community Day was where thinking began about the Cathedral Values of kindness, openness and excellence.

This year we will be focusing on something that lies at the heart of Cathedral ministry with the theme of ‘Everyone Welcome’.  I’m looking forward to leading reflections, with the clergy, on the profound significance of welcome, in our faith, and in our lives.  I’m looking forward to hearing from you and this opportunity of learning together.  The programme for Community Day 2023 is below.

Please register your attendance at Community Day, by 31 May, with the Chapter Office via the following link:https://forms.office.com/e/sAzxgVBAzh, which provides the option of requesting to join virtually if you prefer.  For any further enquiries please contact Chapter office on: chapter.office@winchester-cathedral.org.uk.

Please come. If you have been before, or you are brand new to Community Day, please be assured you will be very welcome!

With every blessing,

The Very Revd Catherine Ogle
Dean of Winchester
