Easter Family Tours (8th – 17th April 2025)
Children and their families can embark on a fun-filled guided tour of the cathedral, meeting fascinating historical characters such as “Diver Bill” and Saint Swithun. Designed to entertain and educate, these tours will uncover captivating stories, answer curious questions, and offer interactive games along the way.
Tour times:
- Tuesday 8th April – 11.00am & 2.30pm
- Thursday 10th April – 11.00am & 2.30pm
- Saturday 12th April – 2.30pm
- Tuesday 15th April – 11.15am & 2.30pm
- Thursday 17th April – 2.30pm
These 45-minute to one-hour tours are included with an annual pass but must be pre-booked due to limited availability (20 visitors per tour). Recommended for children aged 6-11, each child must be accompanied by an adult. Book online, call 01962 857 275, or visit the Box Office inside Winchester Cathedral.
Family Easter Craft Workshops (8th – 11th April 2025)
Families can get creative with the Winchester Cathedral Learning Team at Easter-inspired craft workshops, where children can make beautiful butterfly-themed decorations. The workshops also include an interactive story time, followed by a special butterfly-spotting activity around the cathedral.
All workshops are recommended for ages 3-11. Pre-booking is required, with prices available on the link below, or call 01962 857 275, or visit the Box Office.
Easter Family Trails (26th March – 23rd April 2025)
For families looking for a self-guided experience, Winchester Cathedral’s interactive Easter Family Trails provide an exciting way to explore the cathedral’s hidden treasures. These trails are included with an annual pass and can be collected from the Welcome Desk upon arrival—no booking required.
Whilst at Winchester Cathedral, why not drop by the Cathedral Cafe and enjoy seasonal treats such as Hot Cross Buns and Mini Egg rocky roads. The Winchester Cathedral Gift Shop offers a selection of souvenirs, from butterfly-themed gifts to children’s books and toys. For those looking for an Easter read, the Deanery Bookstall has a variety of pre-loved books.
There’s also family friendly services on most days at the cathedral, including Daily Evensong, at 5.30pm.
