Local schools take part in Light of Hope outreach project
‘Light of Hope’, is part of a wide-ranging engagement project which involves thousands of young people from Hampshire’s schools and community groups creating their own miniature Light of Hope.
Currently, a number of Hampshire’s schools and community groups have taken part, including; Hambledon Primary School, Kingsworthy Primary, Stoneham Park, St Mary’s CE Junior and St Peter’s Catholic Primary.
The Priory Church of England Primary school held a ‘prayer buddy worship’. The children paired up with a peer from a different year group. They used the candles for reflection; reminding themselves of the power of light in darkness, and the hope that light will always bring.

The project is running until 1st January 2023, and to see the installation please visit the Cathedral via the main entrance. For more information or to sign up to the Light of Hope project, please email peter.walker@winchester-cathedral.org.uk
