The lead text sings out the familiar lyric “let heaven and nature sing”, a poetic line taken from the popular Christmas carol “Joy to the world”. The carol, written by Isaac Watts in 1719, is based on Psalms 98, a hymn praising God for His work, the expression of love we have for our natural wildlife, and the hope we keep for the future of mother earth.
The colour palette of the creative is a warming mix of berry red and fir tree green, set to the backdrop of a sweeping royal blue night sky inspired by the tone used in the cathedral's Quire. A mixture of native hedgerow wildlife can be found within the image, including a singing blackbird, a leaping hare and a hazel dormouse. Also found within the image is angelic statuary and Winchester Cathedral boy and girl choristers robed in their traditional cassocks.
We hope you enjoy seeing the creative across the Cathedral's digital and printed communications, from the bottom of staff e-mail signatures, on digital screens inside the café and cathedral, at the top of the Cathedral's social media channels, and sign holders around the outer close.
