Children from St Faith’s, All Saints, Stanmore and Western came together to perform a concert including songs from different cultures and eras. The concert was attended by proud parents and visitors to the Cathedral.
Music teachers from the Cathedral, The Pilgrims’ School and Winchester College have all been working with the children throughout the term to learn the programme of songs for the event. Project lead Chris Burton said ‘It’s been so wonderful to bring everyone together, to sing the same songs and share this fantastic opportunity. Some of these children have never sung in a choir before, yet alone done so in this incredible building.’
Sub Organist, Joshua Stephens also treated us all to a demonstration of the sounds of the organ and a performance of Bach’s Toccata in D minor.
